Silly question about daybeds and trundle beds...?

Does the trundle part of a daybed hold a standard size mattress?
I am looking for a bed that will be twin-size during the day and can hold another twin mattress underneath that can be pulled out from under the bed at nighttime. Ideally, I'd like the second mattress to raise up to the height of the daybed so that it wouldbe more like a king-size bed. I already have two standard-size twin mattresses.
yes it does, i have a trundle bed and both mattress are standard size, hope that helps. See More

Has anyone with a trundle bed used the two twin mattresses in a crosswise direction on the bed springs. When the bed is made up to a King sized bed, it seems strange that the person sleeping on the inside(within the framework),can't get out easily. If possible can you give me some hints on using this daybed.

I'm buying a new bed and I'm not sure if a trundle bed is the best option. Opinions on trundle bed
I share a a small room with my sister, and I don't know if two twin beds are the best option. bunk beds are out of the question, because i'll end up on top, and the ceiling would be like only 5 inches from my face. Are trundle beds good for everday use? And are the easy to pull out and push in on carpet? Do the last long? And when me and my sis go of to college are they good for guests? Oh by the way I'm 14, and my sis is 11.
How about daybeds? They would take up the same amount of room as two twin beds, but look like a cross between a twin bed and a sofa. See More
A trundle bed is meant to slide under a day bed and meant as a guest bed not as a permanent bed. Go with 2 twin beds. See More
